n an exciting update for users of the Apple Vision Pro, Microsoft has announced the availability of OneNote, enhancing the device's utility for note-taking and multitasking. Greg MacEachern, from Microsoft, highlighted that OneNote will leverage the unique capabilities of the Vision Pro, including its infinite canvas of spatial computing, allowing users to view and interact with OneNote alongside other Microsoft apps like Word, Excel, and Teams.
However, this new integration comes with some notable restrictions. OneNote on the Apple Vision Pro is currently limited to personal Microsoft accounts, excluding those managed by an organization. Additionally, the app does not yet support image insertion directly from the camera, and the AI-powered Copilot feature remains unavailable.
Further, users looking to secure their OneNote app via two-factor authentication will find that this feature is not yet supported on the Apple Vision Pro, with Microsoft indicating that improvements are on the horizon.
These limitations come as Microsoft's competitor, Apple Notes, is rumored to be enhancing its features, including new capabilities for mathematical notation and audio recordings—features that OneNote already possesses. This development sets the stage for an ongoing rivalry in the note-taking app market, especially among users of Apple's cutting-edge hardware.
